This strikingly beautiful, National Register, Victorian Italianate was fully restored by Dorian and Elaine Walker, who were featured in the 2009 June issue of This Old House magazine as “The Best Total Restoration in America” for work done on their personal residence.

The Historic Underwood Home built prior to 1870 was totally restored inside and out.  The exterior of the home features unique hand-chiseled panels made to resemble cut stone blocks similar to the wood panels found on Mount Vernon.  The entire exterior was stripped of 140 year old paint, damaged wood was replaced and an historic color palette, designed by a nationally renown colorist was carefully applied.  The home is 3730 square feet with large walk-in closets, a Master Suite on the 2nd Floor and an optional Ladies’ Parlor or Master Suite on the 1st Floor.

Original hardwood, custom made shutter blinds throughout are priceless.  Beautiful 19th Century 9 foot, six panel faux grained doors off the entry hall are spectacular.  The original hardwood floors have been newly restored.  The flow of this house makes it perfect for entertaining.

THE BEST OF YESTERDAY!  MODERN AS TOMORROW!

Entry Foyer boasts Bradbury & Bradbury peacock Frieze, hand painted ceiling and Italianate plaster Medallion in multi-color copper.
